Donna S Moore is a teaching artist most recognized for her expressive figurative drawings. She explores and teaches a variety of techniques including charcoal drawing, life drawing, cyanotype, and gel plate printing. Currently teaching in Wilmington, NC at Osher Lifetime Learning Institute (OLLI) and at the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum School, she also co-leads the Arts Enhances Health program for cancer patients at Cameron Art Museum (CAM), and offers a variety of workshops in Wilmington, NC and around southeastern North Carolina.
In the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Creative Arts Dept., founded by legendary Wilmington, NC artist Claude Howell, then student Donna Moore served as Howell’s assistant. Today she mentors and teaches students to create their own unique relationship with art. “I graduated from UNCW with a commitment to the life-changing power the arts can bring to everyone, everywhere.”
For over 35 years, visual artist Donna Moore has facilitated a Life Drawing Studio in Wilmington, NC. “Energy captured in short-lived gesture through the tactile experience of drawing motivates me to constantly observe. There is beauty in every form. If a student enjoys mark-making, the visual world is infinitely obliging.”
Previously, Donna Moore served as Cameron Art Museum School Director, and as a teaching artist at St. John’s Museum, Wilmington, NC and Brunswick Community College, Southport, NC.
